The short version

xirv.net is a free hobby tool for playing Edge of the Empire. Be decent, don't abuse it, and understand that it comes with no guarantees. If you supply media (like crawl music), supply only files you have the right to use — they stay on your device.

1. The service

xirv.net provides free, browser-based tabletop gaming tools, including a character builder, a play-time character manager, and a campaign manager (including GM preparation tools) for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire and Force and Destiny roleplaying games. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. It is a personal hobby project, not a commercial product — features may change, break, or be removed.

2. Accounts

Accounts are optional and use passwordless email sign-in. You are responsible for the security of your email inbox, since it functions as your key. We may remove accounts that abuse the service (spam, attempts to access others' data, illegal content).

3. Your content

Characters, notes, campaigns, NPCs, vehicles, and GM prep material you create are yours. We claim no ownership of them. Campaign content you mark public is visible to other members of that campaign — that's the point. Don't store anything illegal or that you don't have the right to store.

4. Fair use

Don't attempt to disrupt the service, probe or overload it, or access data that isn't yours. Rate limits exist and are enforced.

5. Termination & data

You can stop using the service anytime; you can export your characters as JSON files whenever you like. To have your account and data deleted, use the contact form. We may discontinue the service; reasonable effort will be made to provide notice and export time.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, xirv.net and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service, including data loss. Keep JSON exports of characters you care about.

7. Intellectual property

xirv.net is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd., Disney, Fantasy Flight Games, or EDGE Studio. Star Wars, Edge of the Empire, and all associated marks and properties belong to their respective owners. The tool is intended for use alongside a legally owned copy of the Core Rulebook. If you are a rights holder with concerns, contact the site operator and we will respond promptly.
